Deep State Radio
Deep State Radio
Deep State Radio is one of the most successful, long-running podcasts focusing on national security, foreign policy, and U.S. politics. The core team of experts has been working together creating podcast content for eight years. Deep State Radio has been on the air since 2017 and since its establishment has generated over 10,000,000 downloads and one of the most loyal audiences that will be found anywhere. Known for its combination of lively, balanced exchanges with an emphasis on cutting through momentary hype to put developments in context, Deep State Radio has become a must-listen among key members of the US and international policy community.
Deep State Radio podcasts are the heart of TRG Media operations and of the DSR network. Currently, weekly DSR line-up of regularly scheduled programming includes:
-
Mondays: Deep State Radio
This is our original podcast, usually featuring members of our original panel of experts, Rosa Brooks, author, former senior Pentagon policy official, and professor at Georgetown University Law Center, Edward G. Luce, associate editor and U.S.-based columnist for the Financial Times, David Sanger, White House and National Security Correspondent for the New York Times, and Kori Schake, Senior Fellow and Director of Foreign and Defense Policy Studies at the American Enterprise Institute. -
Wednesdays: Newsmaker One-on-Ones
Each week, DSR interviews a major newsmaker, either a political leader, a policy maker or a top expert. The midweek podcast often features an interview with the author of a notable recent book. -
Thursdays: Inside DC Podcast
The Thursday podcast, featuring former Obama White House official, Brookings Institution fellow and practicing physician Dr. Kavita Patel as well as DSR primary host, David Rothkopf, looks at breaking stories from the U.S. capital, from political battles to COVID, legal confrontations to pending legislation.
Early in 2022, DSR plans to take its schedule daily. Watch this space for updates on the Tuesday and Friday podcasts.

Words Matter
American’s Mission Statement read by Senator John F. Kennedy On July 4th we celebrate the birth of the American Experiment. The Declaration of Independence — written in the Spring of 1776 by a 33 year old Thomas Jefferson — is America’s mission statement. And like all mission statements, the words represented not what we were, but what we aspired to be.
The Secret Life of Cookies
At The Secret Life of Cookies we know that kitchens are the heart of the home. They’re where families come together, where food comes from and where some of the best conversations take place. Kitchens are where the power is (even nasty President Jackson with his “kitchen cabinet” thought so), and where the baked goods are, which is why Marissa Rothkopf, the host, spends so much time in the kitchen. On The Secret Life of Cookies we will bring you into those conversations with some smart, interesting people who like to cook and have something to say. Pull up a chair up at our kitchen table, and join us as we cook and discuss the important issues of today.
